The beginnings:
An eager and focused individual, Dudley Greenhut started Greenhut Construction Company in 1946, with an understanding of both the technical and practical side of the construction industry. Although he did not possess a formal education, he was able to use his learned knowledge and his relationship-building strengths to build one of the most successful contracting companies in Northwest Florida.
In 1984, Dudley H. “Bill” Greenhut assumed leadership in the company. He considers himself very fortunate to have been mentored by one of the most respected contractors in Northwest Florida, his father.
Greenhut Construction is recognized today as the premier contractor in Northwest Florida. Greenhut excels in its dedication to clients and in its expertise in both Pre-Construction and Construction Services. Our philosophy is based on three major values.

Our clients recognize that by applying these principles to every job, we are providing them with the highest level of service and end product. As a result of this approach, over 50% of our work is for repeat clients, some of which are in their 12th through 15th project with us.
Projects undertaken by our company are accomplished through Construction Management, Design/Build Contracting, and/or overall “Best Value”. Our work includes hospitals, airports, religious facilities, schools, office buildings, government buildings, and many other commercial and institutional, private and public sector projects.
Our strength lies not only in our attention to detail and quality in the field, but in “Value Engineering” as well. We pride ourselves on our ability to team with both our client and the architect/engineering consultants to review and critique the drawings and specifications in a positive, forward-looking manner. This attention to detail and teamwork helps us maintain the original agreed upon budget and to provide the owner the ultimate value for their dollar.
Community Commitment:
Greenhut Construction remains committed to the community, giving back time and resources to many charitable and worthwhile programs. Our President, Bill Greenhut, is active in many civic organizations, having served as Chairman of the Pensacola Area Chamber of Commerce, President of the University of West Florida Foundation, Chairman of a local hospital board, and Chairman of numerous charitable foundations.

Greenhut Construction Company, Inc. employs the most qualified field and office staff in the region. Each member of our team believes in the Greenhut standard of quality and commitment to our owners.
All Project Managers at Greenhut have earned B.A.’s in Building Construction, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering and have spent years accumulating construction knowledge that cannot be attained in a classroom setting. To remain at the top of their field, our Project Managers continue to pursue the latest education in Safety, Environmental Concerns and Construction Technology. Our project managers are involved in the nuts and bolts of the project and remain accountable for the overall success of the job.
Additionally, Greenhut is fortunate to have some of the most experienced field supervision available. Our Superintendents’ field management experience ranges from 15 years to an amazing 28 years. They believe in the quality of work and hands on management style that has earned Greenhut our repeat clients over the years. In many cases, our clients request the same Superintendent for each of their projects.
