Due to the relationship established between Greenhut Construction Company and Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church in building and opening their Community Life Center, Greenhut was selected to build the latest campus expansion for the Church. The Church has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years due in part to the success of the Community Life Center, and therefore needed to build additional space for the Youth Program and other Church activities. The project was constructed in phases to minimize the impact on the daily operations of the Church. Greenhut worked with the Church throughout the design process to maintain the budget, develop phasing plans, and assist with the schedule management of the project church’s daily operations.
The expansion project consists of a Children’s and Youth Building, and Music Suite addition to the existing Sanctuary, a renovation of the classroom and administration space in the Fellowship Hall, the construction of an outdoor gathering space, and the build out of the second floor shell space in the Community Life Center. The new Children’s and Youth building is primarily education and multipurpose space. It is designed with maximum flexibility of use by using operable partitions in lieu of partition walls. The Music Suite addition is designed for maximum acoustics. It mimics the look of the existing sanctuary with the brick exterior and high-pitched rooflines.
