Project Description

Cost: $6,215,312

The City of Pensacola City Hall was severely water damaged during Hurricane Ivan primarily because of roofing and elevator shaft failures. Most of the building was inundated by water. Greenhut was hired to make the building watertight on an emergency basis and subsequently was contracted to be the Construction Manager on a $7.5 million program to recondition the building space. The work involved a new roof, new elevators, reinforcing the exterior wall, a new Central Energy Plant, as well as new interior mechanical/electrical systems, and new interior finishes. Greenhut worked extensively with the City and FEMA for a period of months to achieve an equitable adjustment for the cost for which FEMA would be responsible.
